Sapphire Princess South Pacific Cruise Day 23 - Sea Day - a slow, calm day
Today was a slow day with the standard sea day activities. We slept in a bit, adjusting to the lost hour from last night's clock change. 10:15 trivia, noon ukulele lessons for Arlona, 12:15 progressive trivia for me, lunch, reading, 4:00 trivia, drinks, dinner, evening games at the Explorers Bar - same old same old. This will be a short blog today.
There are lots of other activities on the ship, but not much that we have chosen to avail ourselves of. The entertainment tonight, a signing show, Thank God I'm a Country Boy, wasn't our style. We're enjoying the sea days, but this cruise is definitely a little too sea-day-intensive for us. We'd prefer a few more port days mixed in.
Arlona hid the cruising duck that she found yesterday. This afternoon, she walked by where she had hidden it, and it was gone, so someone else found it. But...in its place, was another cruising duck.
See it there next to the mirror? |
Arlona will hide it again sometime tomorrow |
It was a mixed trivia day with some good rounds and some brutal ones. The team swings and misses follow.

In the Captain's announcements today, he reported on a continuing reduction in cases of gastrointestinal distress and reiterated that the ship will go through a full disinfection tomorrow while we're in port. He also commented on the fact that there is a couple on the ship celebrating an anniversary. He doesn't usually make announcements about that, but they are celebrating their 70th anniversary and he felt that was noteworthy and worth mentioning. I agree.
The ship continues to have maintenance issues. This was on deck 7 just above the entrance to the International Dining Room.
Yet another water leak dripping from a light |
Here's a look at some of the clouds as we were reading on the balcony this afternoon. I found it interesting that we were passing the lower clouds but the higher clouds were passing us.
The moon was playing hide and seek with the clouds tonight as we continued to make our way to French Polynesia.
They have a great market within walking distance from where we docked last year.
