Grand Africa Cruise Trip Day 49/96 - Victoria, Mahé Island, Seychelles - Day #2 - Swimming With The Fishes
We woke up early to start our last day here in Victoria. We boarded a catamaran at a little after 8:00 for a short ride to a semi-submersible boat. We climbed down about six feet into the boat where windows on both sides provided a view of the coral reef below.
Our view as we headed out for the morning |
Unfortunately, the water was a bit murky and the views weren't great, but it was still fun.
We returned to the catamaran for another short ride to our next stop - a snorkeling location near another reef.
Once secured, we got on our snorkel gear and went swimming around. Here's a look at some of the underwater sights.
After that, we returned to the ship and grabbed a shower and lunch. Then, we hopped on the shuttle bus and went into town for a little walk around.
We did see the Hindu Temple.
Similar but different |
We took the shuttle back to the ship and got ready for drinks and dinner. We weren't terribly hungry tonight so we opted for Earth and Ocean on the pool deck on Deck #8. We skipped the appetizer and dessert and just had the main course of Nigerian shrimp and beef cheeks. It was a nice dinner and more than either of us could eat.
Moonrise over the wind farm |
We were both tired and returned to the suite a little after 8:00. The ship started shaking a bit so we went out on the veranda and watched us push off from Victoria.
A full moon lit our way |
We will make the roughly 20-mile sail to Praslin overnight, anchoring around midnight. Tomorrow is a day in Praslin and the end of our Seychelles visit before heading back west around the African continent.
