Grand Africa Cruise Trip Day 94/96 - Sea Day Swan Song
It sure is hard to believe that this trip is wrapping up. Today was our last sea day and last sea day activities.
The day started with a lovely sunrise. We aren't early risers and don't catch many sunrises, but the timing worked out today, and it was worth it.
After breakfast, we played Baggo for the final time.

Unfortunately, none of them were good today, but we all still had fun, and it was nice playing with all these folks for the past three months |
After Baggo, Arlona went to do some beading while I started packing.

Arlona made earrings and a bracelet to go with a necklace she made earlier |
Noon arrived, and that meant our final trivia for the voyage. Titanic Swim Team (our team) sat tied with All About The Popcorn for third, 30 points behind Sip to Shore and 50 points behind the leaders, Clueless.
We had a good day, only missing two questions, but scoring double points on another as we were the only team with the correct answer. Here is the entire game today:
- 10 points
- What planet is known as the red planet?
- Mars
- What is the largest ocean?
- Pacific
- What is the currency of Poland?
- Zloty (from the Polish word for golden)
- Who composed The Marriage of Figaro?
- Mozart
- 20 points
- Where do the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales converge?
- -40
- What was the Seven Dwarfs' occupation?
- Miners
- Who is the Australian Head of State?
- King Charles III
- What is the most valuable sports franchise?
- We guessed Real Madrid
- It was the Dallas Cowboys
- 30 points
- In The Great Escape, what names did they give to the three tunnels they dug?
- Tom, Dick, Harry
- What Middle Eastern capital city was formerly known as Philadelphia?
- Amman, Jordan - double points for being the only team to get it right
- Who is Paul David Hewson better known as?
- Bono
- Name the five most valuable companies - need all five for the points
- We said Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, Alphabet
- It was Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet - nobody got it correct
Today's bonus was worth up to 200 points - identify these celebrity caricatures.
From top left to bottom right:
- Morgan Freeman
- Cameron Diaz
- Anthony Hopkins
- John Wayne
- Dean Martin
- Liam Neeson
- Lady Gaga
- Gary Oldman
- Robery Downey, Jr
- Charlize Theron
We got all ten, placing us in second, missing the win by only 20 points. But...the players on Clueless called Cruise Director Nick over. There had been a mistake in the scoring, and they have been credited with 20 points more than they earned. We wound up tied for first place. Nick opted to forego a tiebreaker and declared us both the winners. Woo! A stunning come-from-behind win. And kudos to Clueless for their honesty and sense of fair play. It was an honor sharing the win with the team that won every other accumulative trivia competition.
Nick and Rhys did a stellar job with trivia, keeping it fun and engaging. It obviously was popular as roughly one-third of the guests took part every sea day.
We spent more time packing this afternoon before going to the final Name That Tune. It was a hard-fought battle, but we fell a little short, taking second. It was all '90s themed, and that was a little outside our wheelhouse.
We went to the Observation Bar for a final evening of pre-dinner cocktails.

The sun gave us as good a show leaving as it did this morning, arriving |

We bid farewell to Dhan, our mixologist for the last three months |
We met friends for a final dinner together in The Restaurant.

It was a nice dinner and an emotional farewell to folks we've spent a lot of time with.
Tonight's entertainment was provided by the Seabourn Six - Earthsong. We had missed it before but enjoyed one last hurrah with the Seabourn Six. There were lots of hugs all night and a few tears as we all said, "Until we meet again".
We will disembark at 7:30 tomorrow morning and transfer to our hotel. We have an exciting plan for tomorrow, but you'll have to read tomorrow's blog entry to see what we did. Until tomorrow...
