Dominica

 Today, we visited Dominica.

 

This was our second visit to this mountainous island nation. 

Arlona and our friend Donna ventured out for a whale-watching adventure on a Zodiac boat.

The tour involved a lot of sea spray but they had a great time and saw dolphins and sperm whales.

After Arlona returned. we got off the ship to visit the local market at the port - the only place we were allowed to go without being on a Celebrity-curated excursion.  The place was quite empty with only a few vendors  We spoke with one woman who said that they required the vendors to be vaccinated and many of them chose to simply close shop.  We were the first large ship visiting since the pandemic and they were certainly hurting.

Beyond that, it was a low-key day on the ship.
