Saturday found us in St. Lucia in the Eastern Caribbean. This stunning volcanic island features twin volcanic mountains knows as the Pitons.
Our adventure today was a catamaran trip along the western side of the island. It included a couple of snorkeling stops and a sail past the Pitons.
Our first snorkel stop was not terribly exciting. There were few fish and not a lot to look at.
We had motored to this stop. When we left, they unfurled the sail and let the wind provide a nice assist.
We sailed to the Pitons so we could get a view of these twin 2,000-foot volcanic peaks.
After that, we arrived at the second snorkel stop. This made the entire trip worthwhile. It was some of the most fun we've had snorkeling. A lot to see - colorful fish, urchins, coral, and such. It was terrific.
On the way back to our ship, we enjoyed the lush hills and subtle waterfalls.
St. Lucia is a beautiful island with several lovely resorts, included three Sandles resorts. It looks like a nice place to spend a relaxing week.
Tomorrow, another day at sea while en route to Aruba.
