Today was our second sea day en route to Aruba. Hazy skies dominated, but unlike the last cruise, no rain so that's an improvement.
In an earlier post, I mentioned the unusual art in some spots on the ship. Our room is no exception.
We can't figure out the sand in the face motif. We talked with other folks that have the same print in their room and they don't get it either.
Another oddity is on deck 3. There are four pigs with trays on their back. Arlona decided this one needed a kiss.
It's a good thing art is subjective as we just don't get it.
We spent time in the morning on the balcony.
Overall, the ocean was relatively calm and sailing was smooth.
We did some reading and relaxing both before and after lunch.
We decided that our mission for the rest of this journey was to have a drink in every single drinking venue on the ship.
We started on deck three today and will work our way around. Not all lend themselves well to photos, so you'll just have to take our word for it.
Our usual haunt, the martini bar, had been staffed by different bartenders yesterday and today. We found out that they are all quarantined due to yesterday's COVID cases as close contacts. 26 crew members were isolated until they get fully tested, cleared, and released.
Good thing we all wear these:
These "tracelets" use low-power Bluetooth communication to both interact with other tracelets and to communicate with the ship. If someone tests positive for COVID-19, these can identify anyone that has been in close contact with the affected individual so they can be isolated and tested. So far, it seems to be working, since we've had at least one case on each cruise but no outbreak or spread.
Time for an early night tonight. Back to Aruba tomorrow.
