This morning, we awoke to storms. We were able to see the rain but stayed dry on our balcony.
After breakfast, we went to the first trivia of the cruise. We came away winners and scored the first ship-on-a-stick that was available for this cruise. It will be added to our S-O-A-S fleet.
After our victory, we returned to our room and once again, watched the storm on our balcony. It was impressively intense with multiple cloud-to-sea lightning strikes and torrential rain. The sound of all of it was incredible.
There are a ton of eating venues throughout the ship. Today, we opted for pizza for lunch. The pizza venue is open 24-hours a day in case you have a hankering at 3am.
After lunch, we watched the auditions for the Family Feud game show that will take place tomorrow night. It was fun, and this stage is really impressive. With a backdrop of windows overlooking the ocean, it is visually lovely.
We returned to our room to change into swimsuits and head to a hot tub. We found our first towel animal of the cruise waiting for us on our bed.
We spent some time in the hot tub, meeting other cruisers, and riding out a little more rain.
Tonight was formal night and lobster night in the main dining room.
We got all dolled-up as did Brian and Nancy. I have to say, we were representing Briar Meadow pretty well.
After a wonderful lobster dinner, we enjoyed another comedian and then hit the piano bar. Tim Buie was incredible and really worked the crowd. We found out that he set Guinness world records for the longest time continuously playing the piano at 61 hours 3 minutes, and then broke that record a year later at 61 hours 10 minutes.
When we returned to our room, the skies had finally cleared and we saw a beautiful moonrise. It was a nice end to a fun day at sea.
Tomorrow is another sea day, and we think we might be trying out the Bolt roller coaster!
