Day 3 started out much better than day 2, weather-wise. Sunshine, blue skies, fluffy clouds, and calm seas were the order of the day.
We slept in a little today, then grabbed a quick breakfast at Shaq's Big Chicken. A honey-dipped check tender on a fresh buttermilk biscuit and thin-cut seasoned fries. Yum.
Another towel animal greeted us today.
Speaking of animals, we had a single brown booby flying alongside the ship today for a little while. Then, to our surprise, this feathered friend started keeping us company.
As far as I can tell, it's a peregrine falcon, way out at sea. It stayed with us for a while and even tried landing on a nearby balcony, but the glass wall thwarted the attempt.
This afternoon, we scheduled a ride on the Bolt roller coaster. We arrived at our assigned time, but there was some maintenance happening in the area, and therefore, the ride couldn't run. Boo. We will reschedule. Good thing, though as a couple of minutes later, liquid sunshine (rain for you non-Floridians) came down in buckets. We all changed into swimsuits and frolicked a bit in the pool before spending some quality hot tub time.
After showers, it was time for a pre-dinner drink and then, off to Cucina del Capitano for a nice Italian dinner.
Cucina del Capitano is a specialty restaurant at an extra cost, but for early sailings on the Mardi Gras, they include it at no cost. We enjoyed a nice meal and decided that since we have any early morning tomorrow in San Juan, we'd call it a night s little early.
