World Cruise day (-1)/152 - The mad dash

World Cruise day (-1)/152 - The mad dash

The cruise  - the one we've been thinking about, dreaming about, contemplating, is suddenly here - tomorrow.  Holy moly - we have work to do!  The first of which is selling our vehicle.  Used car prices are so high right now, we worked a deal on a new one to be delivered at the end of May 2022 when we get back home.  This meant our lovely ride since 2017 got traded in this morning.  Five months without car insurance!  Woo! First time since I was 17 years old that there hasn't been a car in the family.  Of course, we still have our two golf carts.

Next up?  Start packing!  Yes, we're last-minute packers, but that's how we've always been.

There's a lot to think about for a five-month cruise, especially when you're going from warm climates to cool, like Norway in May.  It all crammed in just fine.  We're each bringing a large, medium, and small (carry-on size) suitcase. I'm also bringing my tech backpack.

Next up - home prep.  The guest bathroom is all sealed up.

The shower in the man bathroom got the painter tape treatment as well.

The other sinks and toilet will all get sealed in the morning as will the kitchen sink.  Then, we will shut off the water to the house, shut down the water softener, ice maker, and tankless water heater.

The driver is supposed to be here at 8 AM tomorrow and we'll be on the way to Port Everglades.  I'm guessing it will be a light-sleeping night tonight.  After dinner, we're going to catch the new Matrix movie on HBO Max and try to relax.

Excited, nervous, and really happy that this trip is finally here!  The adventure begins...tomorrow!

  2. Planning to follow your blog. We were on the Sydney to Bali 2020 trip that ended and booked for this one. My husband had a kidney transplant on Nov 17 (I was the donor) so we had to drop out of this one. We will love living vicariously through your blog. Rooting for y’all to get all the way to Bergen this trip. Liz Joe
