So...yesterday, I completely forgot to mention trivia. We had a great day, winning the day and moving into first place on day 2/9. Here are our goofs:
  • Who composed Flight of the Bumblebee?
    • One player was sure it was Béla Bartók but it was Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
  • What toy was banned in Indonesia because it caused passion?
    • We thought it might be Barbie but it was the hula hoop
We scored double points as we were the only team to know which country has the Bible on its flag. The answer was the Dominican Republic.

We now stand alone in first place, but with seven more days to go in the progressive tournament, it's anyone's game.

On to today...

Since we're already talking about trivia, let's chat about today's match. We are currently looking for our wheels because they completely came off today. We dropped down into third place with this bunch of bad answers.
  • In 1962, England and France signed an agreement to build this.
    • We were torn between the Channel Tunnel and the Concorde - we guessed Chunnel, it was the Concorde
  • Serena Williams won which major while pregnant?
    • We guessed Wimbledon, it was the Australian Open
  • What was the first non-English movie to win the Oscar for Best Picture?
    • We guessed Life is Beautiful - it was Parasite
  • The US Virgin Islands - St. Thomas, St. Lucia, and St. Croix, were formerly positions of which country?
    • We guessed were worn between the Netherlands and France - it was Denmark
  • What Mideast country has no desert?
    • We guessed Israel - it was Lebanon
  • What musical was the song Stranger in Paradise from?
    • We guessed South Pacific - it was Kismet
  • Name Marilyn Monroe's three husbands.
    • We got Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller and missed Jim Dougherty.
Like I said, not a banner day.

Today's jewelry projects involved more beading - this time a necklace and bracelet. Arlona made both and they turned out quite nice.

She talked me into coming to the afternoon session and make her a second bracelet to go with the Christmas-y earrings and necklace she made a couple of days ago. This was what I came up with.

I've talked about some of the shortcomings we've found in the room. Let's talk about some of the niceties. Like most cruise lines, they supply soap, lotion, shampoo, and bath gel. Seabourn lets you decide on the bath gel. Along with the standard gel, they give you a choice of four more in various scents.

They also stock the room with an endless supply of cotton swabs and cotton make-up pads.

These are small things, but sometimes, it is those small things that make a difference in the overall experience.

I had some time to walk around the ship and take a few more photos.

The laundry we sent out a couple of days ago came back today, nicely washed and hung or folded. Getting laundry done for you is certainly a nice perk on this cruise. Generally, it is crazy expensive. We sent out three bags with multiple shirts, pants, t-shirts, underwear, socks, and so on. If we were paying for it, it would have cost us over $200. Yikes! Seabourn does offer free launderettes on the guest floors, so that's a nice option.

We missed the first performance from Celli, a cello duo from Poland. Rather than a 9:15 performance, today, they put on a special performance at 5:45.  They performed a wide variety of music, with creative performances including two celloists playing a single cello, simultaneously.

One player had two strings and the other play had the other two strings

Once again, we were invited to a hosted dinner. This time, the hosts were David and Brenda Mackay. David is one of the Seabourn conversationalists on this segment of the cruise, speaking about his vast career in the music production business. It was a very nice dinner with spirited conversation among the seven of us at the table.

After dinner, we attended Better Together, the next production show from the Seabourn Six - the singers and dancers on the entertainment team.

They performed songs from The Beach Boys, Queen, U2, One Direction, Simon & Garfunkel, and more.

It was another high-energy show and underscored the talent of this team.

Do you remember that rose our cabin steward left in our suite a few days ago? Today, it was looking pretty sad, drooping down and looking like it was done. Well, it turns out it had one last hurrah. When we returned to the room, this was waiting for us.

Another nice touch that brought a smile to our faces. We have new small white flowers in the rose's place.

The other thing waiting for us was a reminder to set the clocks back one more hour tonight to get us onto Cabo Verde time. That will put us four hours ahead of the U.S. East Coast. After Cabo Verde, we'll begin losing hours, one at a time, all the way to the Seychelles.

To get an idea of where we are at the moment, check out the map.

We left Barcelona, made a stop at Palma de Mallorca, and then in Tangier, Morocco. We're now off the west coast of Africa, sailing south, we're more-or-less about where the circle is. We will veer a little west for a couple of stops in the Cabo Verde islands before heading for Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire).

For now, we have one more sea day before two port days in Cabo Verde - Mindelo on São Vicente Island and Praia, the capital city of Cabo Verde, on the southern coast of Santiago Island.
