20250212 Seabourn Sojourn Grand Africa Cruise Day 79/96 - Sea Day

Grand Africa Cruise Trip Day 79/96 - Sea Day 2/4 - A Basic Sea Day

We were at sea today, sailing this morning along the south coast of Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). Later today, we crossed the Cote d'Ivoire / Liberia border and turned to the north. Over the next three days, we'll pass Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and the southern leg of Senagal as we steam toward our next port, Banjul, The Gambia.

Today started with Baggo as usual. I took the day off but went to cheer everyone on. Arlona made it all the way to the finals. The finals included negative scores - any bag that missed the boards scored -20 points, and a couple of errant throws were her undoing. Still, she represented Suite 533 well, coming in second.

Today, she worked on watercolors again. She is working on a more complicated project, so nothing to show today. She should finish it the next painting day.

Trivia went well through the first round, we missed one in round 2 and came unglued in round 3, missing three of the four questions.
  • Which Beatle was barefoot on the Abby Road album cover?
    • We thought it was John, but it was Paul - we've had this before and didn't remember
  • What is the largest island in Asia?
    • We guessed Sri Lanka - it was Borneo
  • What musical features the song, Love Changes Everything?
    • We guessed, Chess, but it was Aspects of Love
  • What artist was the first to sell one million records?
    • We guessed Bing Crosby but it was Enrico Caruso in 1902!
We have our work cut out for us tomorrow!

This afternoon, they tried another Wheel of Fortune game—wait, they changed it to Wheel of Seabourn. Since it is new to Seabourn, they are tweaking it and trying it on this cruise as an experiment. We had fun, but unlike last time, we didn't win.

The results from yesterday's Master's putting championship were published in the Source app on our phones today. The top ten finishers all received prizes. My 31 was good enough for fourth place and a second spiffy gray Seabourn cap. We've now scored eight caps (two each in gray and black, and four in white), two sets of packing cubes, three international plug adapters, one umbrella, one game kit, three personal fans, and a dozen stuffed animals (3 each of cruising bears, penguin chicks, polar bears, and puffins). We still have more than two weeks to go. We have given a few things away too. There is talk of a swap meet where guests can trade/exchange Seabourn swag toward the end of the cruise. We'll see if that happens.

Magician Fab Fox did his second show before dinner tonight. We enjoyed the show and it was nice to have it early. We enjoyed dinner with friends in The Restaurant before returning to the suite. We decided to skip the second show from saxophonist, Oli Naz at 9:30. We went to bed late last night and we were still a little tired.

Tomorrow is another sea day.
